Peter Wild ARBSA Born in Birmingham, Peter was inspired by Jacob Epstein in the City Art Gallery and studied figurative sculpture at the College of Art in Margaret Street between 1957 and 1960. A career in industry limited Peter's work to the production of portraits of family and friends cast in resin bronze using waste moulding techniques. On his retirement from the family business several years ago, Peter resumed his studies of the human form both at the Midlands Art Centre in Birmingham and in his home studio. As far as possible Peter works from life but has recently embarked on more active poses which can only be captured by camera, such as his study of gymnasts. Peter has exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Arts since 1999 and has exhibited at the West of England Academy as well as the Midlands Art Centre and the now closed Warstone Gallery. Peter was elected an Associate of the RBSA in 2002 and is also a friend of the Society of Portrait Sculptors and the Society of British Sculptors.
